Natural Boarding Services - Basic Boarding Package
Living Arrangements:

Our boarding facilities are a work in progress with many plans for the future. We offer natural boarding services based on a paddock paradise type of lifestyle arrangement. Our horses are always on the move. It is well known that not only sound natural trimming practices restore horses to good health but natural diet and lifestyle play a much larger role than people might expect. Domesticated horses get nowhere near the amount of exercise required to keep their metabolism and hooves healthy. With all the exercise horses get when living in a paddock paradise situation, they are far more limber and require less "warming up" than horses that are kept traditionally in stalls. Symptoms related to joint, chiropractic and muscle issues are practically deminished.

Our horses live outside 24/7, stalls are rarely used even for rehabilitation as movement is key to healing injuries. We currently have two turnout areas, consisting of a central rehabilitation paddock with soft, sandy footing and 2 large shelters. The central dry lot paddock area is suitable for horses with strict dietary requirements. Each shelter will be equipped with deep pea stone to condition and relieve sore hooves. The second turnout area is a track about 20 feet wide which goes around this central turnout area. This is also located on soft, but dry footing and has varied terrain, slopes and hills for adequate turnout exercise. We will be implementing a 3rd, much larger turnout track shortly in which horses can graze and be on the move in a larger space, with its own shelter as well.

Each and every horse is placed on an individual feeding program with our natural diet regimen and is fed once or twice per day according to the horse's needs and seasonal factors. Each horse will have access to free choice hay, which is distributed all along the track areas to encourage movement while foraging. Our feed program is quite simple, consisting of flaxseed and black oil sunflower seeds for omega 3 and 6 fatty acids as well as a natural vitamin/mineral supplement which doesn't contain sugars, chemicals or preservatives. Probiotics and detox programs can be implemented as needed.

Each horse will be visually inspected a minimum of twice daily to be sure everything is in order. Booting and Blanketing services are also offered as extra services to the basic boarding package.
