| 2009-10-23 | The CBHA, The Canadian Barefoot Horse Association is finally launching! CBHA is going to the Everything Equine Event... The Canadian Barefoot Horse Association was officially formed in 2009 to supply Canada with a solid training and certification program based on the latest research, for upcoming natural hoof & horse care professionals. It was formed to provide the necessary skills to recognize and maintain healthy hooves and horses, as well as to rehabilitate unsound ones and to maximize the performance of competition horses in all disciplines. The CBHA is a nation-wide, non-profit organization which also educates the equine community on the benefits of natural hoof and horse care in order to equip owners with the knowledge to provide their horses with a healthier domestic lifestyle. The CBHA is also going to be at it's first local event in the Ottawa Valley - Lone Wolf Farm Presents Everything Equine The EE is being held at the AM Barr Arena at Kemptville College and admission is FREE. There will be live presentations, a trade fair and silent auction among other fun activities. The CBHA is donating a Full Horse and Hoof Assessment Package worth $100 to the silent auction. We will have a table near the entrance to the clinic area with an LCD slide presentation running and with a table full of CBHA related informational material. Please come and join us - it will be fun! The date of the event is Saturday, November 21st. Please see the Everything Equine official site for more information and a full listing of the guest speakers, sponsors and trade fair participants! www.everythingequineevent.com

Carolyn Myre Fully Certified with the AANHCP The trip and training was gruelling as usual but successful! The first day, we spent 11 hours meticulously precision trimming severely overgrown and supercoriatic cadaver hooves. We then trimmed a few of Richard's lovely horses (Smokey & Bandit). The second day we spent 12 hours learning incredibly invaluable skills sizing, fitting and modifying the Swiss Horse Boots. We shared the clinic with two very nice Europeans, one from Germany and the other from Austria. At the end of the clinic we then trimmed some more cadaver hooves. I would highly recommend anyone who is in the AANHCP program to spend a few days mentoring with Richard, he is a very warm yet highly knowledgeable person. To all my clients and colleagues, I would like to thank you for all your endless support and carmarderie in our journey into natural horse care based on the wild horse model! Cheers to all of you! |
